Purser Hulsey Park
13201 Phillips Rd, Matthews, NC 28105
About
4.5 miles of tight, flat cross-country singletrack built on hard-packed clay. Very XC-oriented with a focus on pedaling and momentum rather than elevation, keeping the overall physical demand low while offering high-speed cornering through dense tree coverage. There is a dedicated hub of progressive jump lines right off the main loop (that is actually better accessed by parking at the dog park and headed through the field) that offers a structured progression of jumping ranging from low-consequence roller tables for beginners to larger gap jumps, intermediate step-downs, and steep wooden launch ramps,l.

Main Loop
A smooth, easygoing 1.5-mile trail that serves as the foundation for the park. It features minimal elevation change and very few obstacles, making it perfect for beginners. The trail is famously lined with uniquely painted rocks that local trail users constantly move and hide along the route.
Enchanted Forest
Branching off the Main Loop, this quick half-mile section lives up to its name. It weaves tightly through a densely packed grove of young pine trees. It is fast, flat, and heavily shaded, offering a fun, scenic change of pace from the standard hardwood forest.
Backside Loop
This three-mile extension provides the bulk of the park’s mileage. It maintains the system's generally flat and fast cross-country feel but introduces a few more small roots and undulations. Note: The park's dedicated dirt jump lines are located off this trail, tucked away in an open field area.
