About

The Lake Hickory Trails (located at Hickory City Park and Rotary-Geitner Park) offer a tight, well-crafted 8-mile network of singletrack that punches well above its weight class. Completely overhauled by professional trail builders (Terra Tek), the system cleanly separates its loops by skill level, using a paved greenway to bisect the park and let you easily mix and match your ride.

How to Access the Trails

Jump Line

This is the park's premier black-diamond jump trail. It features a sequence of well-built gaps, steep tabletops, and large berms designed for experienced riders. The mandatory features and high speeds require solid bike control and jumping skills, making it the go-to spot for maximizing your airtime.

Drain Pipe

A quick, steep, and appropriately named gravity line that acts as a fast chute toward the bottom. It rides exactly like you’d expect—tight, punchy, and fast, demanding good braking control and focus. It’s a short but intense run that adds a slightly different flavor to your downhill lap rotation.

OG Downhill

As the name suggests, this is one of the original gravity lines at the park. It provides a slightly more old-school downhill feel, combining steep pitches, fast berms, and natural speed-carrying sections. It’s a quick, thrilling descent that demands focus and rewards riders who know how to pump the terrain.

Goal Post

A fun, fast, and slightly looser blue trail compared to the rest of the park. It features off-camber corners, a few rooty sections, and small, rollable drops. It requires a bit more bike handling skill but rewards you with great flow once you get up to speed.

Flowmentum

A fast, progressive downhill flow line that prioritizes speed and cornering over massive air. It is packed with deep berms and rollable jumps, allowing riders to maintain serious momentum from top to bottom. It’s perfect for intermediate riders looking to push their downhill speed in a predictable environment.

Elevator

This is your dedicated climbing trail. It is an uphill-only return route designed specifically to let you efficiently pedal back to the top of the downhill lines. The grade is manageable, allowing you to stack multiple gravity laps without completely burning out your legs.

Broyhill

This directional, intermediate loop spans roughly four miles and skirts the edge of the lake. It’s a fast, flowy cross-country trail characterized by short, punchy climbs and smooth berms. There are optional technical features, but the main line is highly rideable and carries speed well.

Flownado

A newer addition to the gravity lineup, Flownado is a fast, air-focused jump line that quickly became a local favorite. It lives up to its name with well-shaped berms and a series of floaty tabletops. It requires solid momentum and bike control, rewarding riders with an incredibly smooth, predictable rhythm from top to bottom.

Springs Loop

A 1.5-mile beginner-friendly green loop that is incredibly smooth and easy to navigate. It features gentle rollers and small berms with almost no rocks or roots. It’s an ideal warm-up lap for experienced riders and a perfect, low-stress trail for kids and beginners.
